The Place

You made a Place for You and I.

A Place where we could always meet.

A Place where you showed me what true Love was all about.

A place just for You and I.

***

Many times I’ve tried to run away from this Place.

I thought about having my own space,

But time after time, I would find myself here.

I can’t escape it; I can’t run from it.

***

So here I am again.

At the Place You made for us.

The first time You gave Your all,

Now it is me who is giving up my all!

***

I don’t wanna run anymore;

I’m tired of running away.

Now I just wanna be here with You.

***

This place where it seems cold and dark,

On top of a hill where an old rugged Cross lies.

It took me a while too see beyond the Pain.

Now I can see the beauty of the Cross.

***

It was here where Salvation and Deliverance rang out.

The day we met here, I was forever changed.

You paid the price to set me free,

You changed my disgrace into grace.

***

So back at the Place you made for us to meet,

I can no longer do things my way.

I submit to Your ways. Live in me; live through me.

***

Everyday as I come back to the Place,

I will always remember that it was because of You

That I now have access here.

***

No matter what’s happening around me

Or where I am in life,

I know now I can always meet you here,

The Place you made just for You and I.
