He saw the best in me
When people see you, what do they think? We tend to always think bad and negative about people. We see people through our prejudice eyes and sometimes think that God views us the same way. Not so! The Bible says in Genesis 1:26 (NIV):
“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
He created us in His image. God doesn’t make trash. When He takes time to create things, He makes things that are good. People might look down on you because of your color, race, weight or whatever reason they can find, but God sees in you Himself! You are not just anybody. You were created in His image! Your identity is found in God. He only sees the best in us. And the main reason He sees the best in us is because of His Son, Jesus who lives inside of us.
God doesn’t judge us according to our outward appearances. He looks at what’s in the heart. There is a song that Delirious wrote called King or Cripple, one of the verses says:
“I’d love to hold the hand of one who healed the blind
And saw the leper run into the arms of love
And king or cripple, they were the same to you
You took a broken man and you treat him like a king”
Jesus never saw people as second class citizens. If we are to be like Christ, then we need to treat others like Jesus did. Don’t walk in shame or with low self-esteem, view yourself as God sees you. There is greatness in you. God deposited the best in you. When people talk bad about you, that’s not what God says. God sees His image in you. Lift up your head and walk like a true child of the King! There is no other person like you!
Listen to this song to lift up your spirits.
