God’s Love

Have you ever wondered how big God’s love is?  I know I have.  Good for us that the Bible answers this for us.  Lets look at John 3:16 (NIV)

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

I know at first it’s easy to miss it because this is such a familiar verse.  I remember when I was growing up it was the first english verse I memorized.  I was given a piece of candy for it.  Throughout my life this verse became just another verse that you say without really thinking about it.  Looking at it through a father’s perspective, this verse has a totally new meaning.  I want you to follow me in looking a little deeper at this famous and most quoted verse.

God’s love is measered by His gift to humanity.  Think about it.  There was nothing more precious or greater in heaven than Jesus, and God loved us to the point to give up what He most loved.  We on the other hand, can’t seem let go of a single dollar for the offering, now imagine giving up our most valuable possession!  God is and will always be madly in love with us.

Job had this to say in chapter 7:17 (NLT)

“What are people, that you should make so much of us,
that you should think of us so often?”

Psalm 8:4 (NCV), David writes, “But why are people even important to you?
Why do you take care of human beings?”

God loves us so much and we sometimes won’t even love Him back.  He has given so much to us and we are so cold towards Him.  He tries to reach out to us and we turn our backs against Him.  He only wants to give us His love unconditionally.  Aren’t you tired of receiving this fake love from people who say they love you but with their actions  say something else?  I know there’s people out there who are hurting and who really need to experience this love of God, but are so wounded that they are scared to give Him a chance.  If He could give up His ONLY Son for you, I’m so sure that He will NEVER hurt you.

God not only said He loves you, He demonstrated it by sending His Son to die for us on the Cross.  And the craziest thing is that He didn’t even wait for us to get back on track, He loved us regardles of the fact that we were still in our sins.   He loves us regardless of what condition we find ourselves in.  Yes, He loves you.  There’s no depth deep enough or length long enough to avoid His love.  He cares for you beyond what you can think or imagine.  There’s no reason for it, He just does!  His love is pure and sincere; there’s nothing that can be compared to it, not even a mother’s love.  His love is a million times a million times greater.

When you love someone your actions will prove louder than anything that what you say is true.  When you give gifts to that person you claim you love, you give the best.  You go out of your way to make sure you can get the best for that person.  That’s what God did for us.  He gave His best, Jesus.   I know it’s hard to grasp this kind of love, but all you have to do is accept it into your life.  He doesn’t ask you to do nothing else, but accept it.  It cost God everything and He gives it to us.  May you gain a new understanding for His love.  Accept it and share it.  What will always remain is God’s love.

Prayer

“Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.  Amen.”

  1. God’s Love is unconditional, sending His ONLY SON to DIE for our SINS is the Greatest Gift of God

  2. Indeed the prophet said…”God is hidding in simplicity” Upon rising from the bed early in the morning is a great love of God….which some people overlooked that love.
