2 Samuel 22:3 (CEV)

“You are the rock where I am safe. You are my shield, my powerful

weapon, and my place of shelter. You rescue me

and keep me from being hurt.”

We all are looking for places of security. We try to find shelter from our pain through different means, some good and some bad…very bad. The thing is that we all from time to time need a place where we can feel safe. We run from relationship to relationship trying to find security and the sense of feeling safe with someone. The thing is that we try to find it on the people that will hurt us, on people that will fail us. We tend to forget God in the middle of our pain and in our frantic search for security.

The God of the Universe wants us to find shelter in Him. Isn’t that a relief! God wants us to find peace and everything that we lack, in Him. It’s an open invitation. When David wrote this psalm God had delivered him from his enemies, especially from Saul.

Saul dedicated his entire life to kill and destroy David. He pushed David to live in the wilderness and in caves. He spent years seeking cave after cave, city after city to hide from Saul. David later understood that what kept him safe wasn’t the caves, wilderness or cities, but God. We too fall into the false assumption that the things we seek after protect us, but in reality its God.

God is and will always be your Knight in Shinning Armor. He rescues you and keeps you from being hurt. The thing is that we try to escape Him and try doing things our own way, which leads us getting hurt. And then we have the audacity to blame Him for our pain. Let me tell you something: God wants to keep you from being hurt! Isn’t that wonderful?!? Why do you ever run away from Him? All He wants is the best for us.

Whenever you need Him to fight your battle, He is the most powerful weapon you have. Why not ask Him for help? He can give you the victory when you think its impossible to obtain. He’ll fight for you, rescue you and make you feel safe and secure. No one can do that but God. Let Him be your Knight in Shinning Armor!
