Deuteronomy 30:19-20 (NLT)
“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

Each day you are faced with making two decisions: Life or Death and Blessing or Curses.  Each day you have the opportunity to use your words to give life and to bless or use your words to produce death and curse.  God has given us the power to choose between life or death and blessing or cursing.  Many times we use our emotions to dictate how we will choose for that day.  Many times our “bad day” has been because we have allowed our emotions to choose death and cursing.  But you see, this is a huge decision you must make daily, that’s why you cannot allow your emotions to control it!  You need to decide!

I love how Moses tells the Israelites, “Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!”  Imagine that!  Our choice will affect our lives and our descendants too.  We are encouraged to choose life.  So, how can we choose life daily?  There are 3 things you can do daily to keep on choosing life.

1.  Love the Lord. Put Him first before anyone or anything.  This implies a personal, intimate relationship.
2.  Obey Him. This means you have to read what His Laws are, in order to obey them.  You need a daily devotional with Him through reading Scripture and Praying.  You are to put in practice what you have read and meditated.
3.  Commit yourself firmly to Him. Be faithful to Him.  He’s not looking for a girlfriend, but a wife!

Doing these 3 things daily, we’ll be choosing life.  If you choose life, He promises to give you a long life in the land.  So, what will you choose? Choose LIFE and BLESSING.
