Murder? Yikes! Actually the topic I really want to get on is love, so yeah maybe the title is trying to lure you in a little, but it still has to do with the topic! 1 John 3:15 says “Anyone who hates another Christian is really a murderer at heart…” It is in the word of God, when we hate our fellow brothers we are pretty much murderers. But it makes sense, going back to Cain and Abel, Cain hated his brother to the point where he actually killed him. Now we may say things like “well it’s not really a big deal” oh but it is! Being Christian means to be like Christ. Christ demonstrated the ultimate act of love when He died on the cross. How do we expect to be anything like Christ when we let even the slightest bit of hate in out hearts. We need to have genuine love for our brothers and by that I mean not just saying that we love each other but by showing it. Verse 19 of 1 John 3 says “It is by our actions that we know we are living in the truth…” Anyone can say they love some one but our actions show how we genuinely feel. So how dare we call ourselves Christian without actually showing Christ’s love through our attitude, actions, and our lives! It is the only way people can see Christ love, through us Christians. So let us move forward not only saying we love each other but really showing it!
