Follow the Leader

Most of us have played the game, follow the leader.  It’s a game with 1 person leading the entire group.  The point of the game is to have the people do exactly what the leader does.  If you don’t follow the leader, then you are eliminated from the game.

It’s funny how little things like that can teach you a great spiritual lesson.  Romans 8:14 (NIV) says, “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” I think this one of the clearest verses in the Bible.  My question to you is, are you following the Leader?

Take a moment to reflect your actions, words, thoughts and lifestyle, does that reflect what your Leader is doing?  If not, you are out of the game and probably haven’t noticed!  To be children of God, you must be led by His Spirit.  The question is not who is the leader, but are you following the leader?

If your actions are not a reflection of His actions, how can you be called a child of God?  How you live, or should I say, who you follow determines if you are or not a child of God.  It’s not only a name, but a lifestyle.  And let me put this note: this isn’t a game.  Make sure you are following the right Leader.

Reflect.  Act.  Be.
