In Hebrews 6:1-3 (NLT), we learn that just staying with the basic teachings is not enough.  God did a lot more for us than just saving us from hell.  God’s Word has so much hidden treasure for us, that if we don’t go in deeper, we will miss out completely.

In 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NIV) the Bible says,

However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen,

what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him.

This verse can stay true for us the rest of our lives.  We’ve heard that this verse talks about Heaven and all the things God has in store for us there.  But let me tell you, this verse has to do with things here on Earth not Heaven!  Because the very next verse says,

these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.

The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. (v10)

This means, we can go through life never seeing, hearing, nor conceiving the things God has in store for you HERE!  This is why we need to further our understanding.  The greatest treasures are found deep in the oceans or deep in the ground.  You will never discover God’s best for your life, if you never go deeper in the Word.

My suggestion is: Dig Deeper!  You’ll find your treasure.
